Me: I’ve started a blog.

Him: What’s a blog?

Me: It’s a web log – blog – get it?

*Pause*

Him: You mean on the internet?

Me: Yes

Him: Why?

Me: Because I like reading blogs – I want to contribute too – I want somewhere to archive my scatty ideas – I want a place to vent, and rant, and rave. I want to meet new people. I want to feel part of a community.

Him: And a blog will do all that?

Me: Maybe

*gazes thoughtfully out the window*

It’s another way of linking to the world. Of staying in touch. But it needs to be more than one-way.

Him: How do you do that?

Me: Make it interesting enough that people will come back for more.

Him: What? Like this conversation?

Me: Well, maybe not – but it’s a start.

*laughs*

Him: Good luck – I reckon you’ll need it!
