On the road (or, really, in the air) again

I’m preparing for an interesting couple of weeks. I’m expecting to learn a lot so I’ll be trying to capture those learnings here.

First, I’ll be in Taiwan at the China Facilitation Conference – doing a one-day pre-conference workshop with about 30 people on ‘facilitating in the moment’. Many don’t speak English so I’ll be working with a translator. The following day I’ll be facilitating a two-hour workshop on ‘improv gifts for facilitators’, and then taking part in an open space on the future of facilitation in China.

Then I’ll fly via Japan to Chicago where I’m attending the Applied Improv Conference. This will be my fourth improv conference and my main means for learning and inspiration. The difference this year is that I’m also presenting, with my brilliant friend Andrea Barrett. So I expect the learning to be just as rich, and different. And I’ll also be opening space on the final day of the conference. So a busy couple of weeks.

When I return home at the end of October, that will be the end of overseas trips for four months. But never fear, I won’t be idle. There’s a book on the horizon, a lot more blogging, videos to make and maybe even some work to pay for it all!
