World Humanitarian Day
Did you know? No, I didn’t either.
So I’m thankful to my friend Tris who has alerted me AND written a fabulous post that you should go and read – from the perspective of an aid worker. It’s a long post and it’s worth reading it all. Trust me on this. I’ll wait till you get back. Go on – go read it now. Psst: you’ll also enjoy his fab photography!
It’s OK – I have lots of other stuff to do.

Oh, you’re back! What did you think? Hard to believe we are only NOW recognising and honouring humanitarian workers. From time-to-time I work on the fringes of the humanitarian world, and I’m constantly in awe of the work these people do, and where they do it. I love this work. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far, and know, that sadly, there’s going be no less need for humanitarian workers and the support that I, and others, can sometimes provide.
Thanks so much for the shout-out Viv- your description and encouragement are lovely and I really appreciate it. There were some beautiful sentiments expressed on the post, and apparently the thing even got re-tweeted on the UNHCR twitter account. Very much appreciate your enthusiasm and encouragement as always. Have a great day.
