Nothing focuses the mind like a deadline

Last night I received a request for our fledgling improv group Script Bare to do a repeat performance at the Anglesea One Act Play Festival (we perform while the judges are making their decisions about winners/awards etc). It’s a bit scary because it’s on a real stage with a real audience, AND it’s exciting too. And it’s meant I’ve had to focus on getting posters up around town to let people know about improv workshops starting on July 30 (if you live anywhere near the SurfCoast and want to join in you’d be very welcome. đŸ™‚

It’s also reminded me about how deadlines can focus the mind. I find this when planning a facilitation job too – some people are able to plan well in advance. I find everything’s quite fuzzy until right before the event and then everything I have to do just snaps into focus. Lucky I stumbled across improv and can now incorporate that into my facilitation too.
