Try

18 December 2010 2 By Viv McWaters

Try to be braver.
To believe, to run towards
not away, from truth.

Isn’t it easier to not try? To try requires accepting the potential of failure, disappointment, ridicule. Yet not trying, what alternative is this?

I’m reading Bill Isaac’s book Dialogue and the Art of Thinking Together. He writes: “We need to become conscious of what we are doing so that we can refine and share it. This does not mean that we must make a theory of dialogue formal and explicit, but that we in some fashion make it understandable and usable to others.”

In 2011 I want to try and capture in some fashion, what it is we* do when working with groups, and make it understandable and usable to others.

Oh, and I also want to try making bread.

* We is me and the amazing people I get to work with from time-to-time

I’m taking part, with 3000+ others, in a 31-day blogging challenge called #reverb10 to reflect on the past year and explore hopes for the coming year, based on daily prompts from authors. December 18: Try What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did / didn’t go for it?
