Just being
I’ve written before about my frustration at the need to produce ‘outputs’ at the end of a gathering, implying that just being together in conversation is not enough. I’m about to take part in the 16th Annual World Open Space on Open Space in San Francisco. I’m looking forward to just being in *open space*. I have no expectations. No agendas. No topics I want to post. Just lucky I don’t have a boss either. How would I explain spending the money, and travelling half way across the world to an event where I have no idea what will happen?
And that’s the beauty of open space. The unexpectedness. The surprises. The opportunities. Did I mention that I’m looking forward to it?
Having no idea what will happen seems to me to invite the widest range of possibility. Sounds fun to me.
Would be good to have you here too Johnnie. Alas, we’ll have to wait until September to all be together. Also with new outputs.
